Your Questions About Golf Irons Blades

Lizzie asks…

good advanced golf irons?

im going to college for golf. im going next year. i have callaway big bertha 08′s. im looking to upgrade to pro level golf irons. i know its all about feel and whats good for me but i want to know what u guys think ar the top golf irons used by pros so i can go try them out. i was thinking callaway razr forged or nike vr pro blades. or titleist ap2 forged. im looking to spend what it takes i just want really good irons to go onto the golf team in college with. and any driver, wood, hybrid, or putter suggestions will be appreciated too.

admin answers:

I’d still wouldn’t do blades… At least, not for the long irons and maybe the mid irons. Nike’s Vr Pro Combo would be a good one. Bridgestone had a set… The J-36′s… That was similar: cavity back long irons, “pocket cavity” back mids and blade shorts. You could do a split set of AP1′s and AP2′s, as well. Dynacraft makes a set, the Prophet Tour’s, that are geared towards the better player; there’s a slot cavity that can’t be seen at address, but offers cavity-back forgiveness (somewhat).

Are you worried more about impressing the guys with your gear? Don’t- especially if it’s outside your budget. Used clubs (post-2006) and component brands will give you just as much playability as any of the current “big boys”. Get fit with clubs you can afford, then go out and knock ‘em down.

Thomas asks…

King Cobra SS irons forged blades any good?

I wanted to switch over from my old iron set to a forged blade sets i need some opinions on which it would fit me or advice/help on the sets.
.

-Mid to high handicapper
-10% chance of mishits
-Age 16
-played golf for 5 years
-Do the feel of forge irons have any difference?
-Is it good too switch over?

admin answers:

I hit some Cobras and didn’t like them – I’ve hand Taylor Made, Callaway and Mizuno and I finally found my perfect set – a set of Titleist DCI 962′s – they have the look of a blade with cavity back forgiveness – I would recommend hitting a set of Titleist irons, they are sooooo butter it’s not even funny – go hit all of the ones available – Ping, TaylorMade, Mizuno, Callaway, etc – you can try to feel for yourself the difference at impact – The Titleist irons were a no-brainer for me, they felt better than anything I had EVER hit and I’m playing my best golf because of it – good luck

James asks…

Battle of the Iron Blades.?

Nike Forged Blades Iron set Golf Club vs. Bridgestone J36 Blades Irons
which one is better? anyone own a set? thoughts? opinions? dislikes? likes?

admin answers:

The Nike set is better. The Bridgestone set from what I’ve read aren’t as long as other iron sets. Golf Magazine didn’t give them a favorable rating while they praised the Nike blades when they first came out.

Richard asks…

golf….are the titleist zm blade irons any good?

admin answers:

Not unless you are! The Titleist web site states that these clubs (Z-Muscle) are for a “highly skilled player”, which definitely counts me out, and probably you as well – if you were you wouldn’t be asking the question. So my advice is no – unless you break 80 on a regular basis. Pretty expensive too, at $900 on the web. Go for something like Taylor Made R-7′s, if you have a 10-15 handicap, or Mizuno MX-950s if it’s up around 15-30.

David asks…

Taylormade R9 irons or callaway x24 irons, which one is great ?

i am a beginner, i want to buy one irons set, i donot choose which: Taylormade R9 irons or callaway x24 irons?

help me!

admin answers:

I highly recommended Taylormade R9 irons, there are some details about the two clubs you can get better understanding in the below sourse.

William asks…

Golf club fitting Taylormade r7 irons with graphite shafts?

I won a set of irons on ebay and was wondering if i get a basic fitting will i have to buy new shafts?

admin answers:

It is possible but highly unlikely. The basic fitting adjusts the club to your swing type. The other factor is how fast you move the club through your downswing, and the number of rpms generated on the ball. If you move to fast the graphite shafts might be to light for you and then you should probably move to a heavier shaft.

Susan asks…

What new set of irons should i get? Cleveland Cg gold black irons or Taylormade burner ht irons?

Just trying to figure out which to buy. I have a med/high handicap but usually shoot 150 yrds with my pw.

admin answers:

TM Burner ht Irons.

Your Questions About Golf Bags Reviews

Ruth asks…

Help finding a golf club found in a thrift shop?

I had recently picked up the game of golf by stealing my parent’s old clubs and making a set out of them. I stopped at a local thrift shop and saw an odd looking club that I may or may not want to add to my bag. I tried to find it online, but I can’t seem to find it. On it is only “PRO-X” Tour Edition Titanium. Can someone help me figure out the company that makes this club or send me a review? I want to know if 6 bucks is worth the trouble just to find out I will break it down the road.

admin answers:

For 6 bucks it can’t be horrible to pick it up. It may break, it may not.. But for 6 bucks, that is not bad. You could buy a 200 dollar club and down the road it breaks. What is worse, losing 6 bucks or 200?

I tried a google search but didn’t find anything.

George asks…

Can anyone help in math?

So in my math class we are reviewing algebra 2, but i havent taken in in a year in a half… hehe so i totally can’t figure this problem, the question is:

“When Sphere-R-Us ships bags of golf balls, each bag must be withing 5 balls of 670. Identify the Inequality which results in an acceptable number of golf balls in each bag.

[A] |b – 5|< 670

[B] |670 – b| < 5

[C] |5 – b| < 670

[D] |670 – 5| < b
"

by the way the "<" should be less than or equal to instead of just less than, i just dont know how to add that line underneath it.

I totally thought it was A but then i didnt know and the problem really confused me.. help?!
Can you show me your logic as to why its whichever letter you choose?

admin answers:

The logic is quite simple.

A bag may contain as few as 665 or as many as 675 balls in order to be shipped.

Choice [B] is the only inequality that satisfies this condition.

|670 – b| ≤ 5

QED

Linda asks…

Does anyone play the Wilson Fybrid 5-wood and/or Fy Club?

I keep reading so may great reviews of the Wilson Fybrid system, and I am thinking of getting one or two of the clubs, but I don’t know which one to get. I am leaning towards the 19.5 fybrid club, but I am not sure what to pull from my bag. I currently play Adams Golf Ovation-2 Fairway Woods, 3 and 5, and Hagen 21 and 24 degree hybrids, which l absolutely love. I was thinking of using the 19.5 and taking my 5 wood out of the bag, but now I wonder if I should get the 5W club and take out my current 5 wood. I think 19.5 and 21 degrees are too close for the clubs. Does anyone play these clubs, what did you play before you got these, and how do you like them?

Thanks!

admin answers:

The FYBrid club is a really great club. Remember, Padraig Harrington made his 2 greatest shots with it to win the 2008 Open Championship. Wilson Staff makes great clubs (don’t buy just “Wilson” equipment, make sure it’s “Wilson Staff”). The FYbrid is super easy to hit, I highly recommend it.

Your Questions About Cleveland Wedges

Donna asks…

Cleveland Zip Groove Technology Ban?

What’s the deal with this USGA ban on the Cleveland Wedge’s Zip Groove Technology? I heard something like pros can’t use them on tour starting in 2009 but amateurs can until 2011. I want to know whether or not i should buy one because i won’t buy one if i can’t use it in a year. Someone please let me know the details on the ban.

Sorry for the novel
THANKS!

admin answers:

August 5, 2008
Far Hills, N.J. – The United States Golf Association announced revisions to the Rules of Golf, placing new restrictions on the cross sectional area and edge sharpness of golf club grooves.

The rules control the cross sectional area of grooves on all clubs, with the exception of drivers and putters, and limit groove edge sharpness on clubs with lofts equal to or greater than 25 degrees (generally a standard 5-iron and above).

The rules apply to clubs manufactured after Jan. 1, 2010, the same year that the USGA will enforce the new regulations through a condition of competition for the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Senior Open and each of their qualifying events. All USGA amateur championships will apply the new regulations through the condition of competition, after Jan. 1, 2014.

Joseph asks…

personal preferences between two wedges?

Looking for new wedge, i’ve tested them out and hit them both well but just don’t know which to go with. The wedges in question are Cleveland CG12 w/ zip grooves wedge and Titleist Vokey Spin Milled wedge. I believe both are legally playable until 2024? 56 degree. Personal thoughts please?

admin answers:

You’re really just buying a name, especially if you’ve hit them both and liked them both. Both clubs grooves are at the legal limit, so there won’t be any true difference in them, other than what you think about them. If in doubt, go with the least expensive model, and apply the saving to greens fees!

William asks…

Is it normal to mix and match club brands in your bag?

For example: a Cobra driver and fairway, Callaway irons, Cleveland wedge, and a Ping putter. Or do most people have the same brand or series throughout their entire set?

admin answers:

It just looks nicer if your have a complete set with matching clubs and bag. But if the mismatch works for you why not. I have taylor rac cause i got them for christmas many years ago. I have a zaap putter tommy armour because i can twirl it walking up to the green. Tommy armour 60 wedge it was cheap, fairway woods callaway hawkeye cause i can hook them around trees.

Sharon asks…

what’s the model name of cleveland wedge that face gets rusty?

i’m looking for cleveland 588 wedge,
one that gets rusty on the club face.
what’s the model name of the club?
is it copper or bronze?

admin answers:

I have two 588 wedges that “rust up.” They are the non-chrome style. When you are shopping for new Cleveland wedges, look for a yellow tag on the shaft that indicates the club is a model intended to rust — that is the surest way to tell that you have purchased the style you are looking for.

Your Questions About Golf Clubs

Daniel asks…

What is the best set of golf clubs for a left handed beginner?

I want to purchase my first set of golf clubs. I have not been golfing too many times but I am pretty athletic and a quick learner. I am not trying to be a pro but would like to have fun. I usually spend a little more than average on my sporting equipment because usually you can get better quality and if nothing else at least it makes you more confident. I want to spend around $1000.00 on clubs and I am wondering what else I should buy shoes, bag, glove, etc. I would also like to know the basics when it comes to club selection, offset, shaft length, stiffness, etc. Someone who could summerize for me would be great!!!

admin answers:

I am left-handed but play right because it was easier for me to learn that way and club selection is greater. Golfmith has an excellent selection of right and left handed clubs though. They also have a golf simulator that tests your swing-that will help determine what kind of clubs you need. Stiff versus flex, speed rating etc. Even though I am a lady, I have a very fast swing speed of 125+ mph so I need a very stiff graphite shaft so I chose a men’s set (Nickent). I find that graphite shafts are more forgiving than steel. I have been playing almost everyday for 3 yrs and my game has changed so much that I am glad I waited to invest more money on clubs until I was able to understand what my needs were better.

Lizzie asks…

What golf clubs should I get my boyfriend for our anniversary?

I want to get my boyfriend golf clubs for our anniversary but I have no idea what to get him, his dad passed away and he uses his old Callway clubs but he is always talking about how he wants new ones. I always pay attention when he looks at golf clubs and he said he really likes PING or Callaway and he wants hybrids? I would like to get him a set with a bag and everything if possible 600 or less. Any help!? Links would be great too

admin answers:

I would rather you let him try the clubs first. You should tell him what you want to do and let figure out if he wants to put money in and get what he wants.

Lisa asks…

Where can I buy good quality new golf clubs in the Philippines?

I will be going to the Philippines in a couple of months and I want to buy a set a good quality golf clubs so I do not have to travel with clubs. Does the SM malls have sport stores that sell golf clubs or anywhere else?

Thanks in advance!

admin answers:

Sure sm malls say “we got it all”

Sandy asks…

What golf clubs should I try to get to complete a beginner’s set?

I have just started learning to play golf, and was recently given a golf bag and some old clubs. I was given 3 through 9 irons, a PW and a putter. What do I need other than a driver? Do I need a 3 wood or a SW? Also, how is the best way to go about getting old clubs that are good for beginners?

admin answers:

You probably don’t need much more than a driver to complete your set for now. As you start playing more, you can begin looking for more specialized clubs like fairway woods and/or hybrids or wedge sets.

Your Questions About Taylormade Burner 2.0

Chris asks…

TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Superfast or the R9 SuperTri for distance?

admin answers:

Like the original, TaylorMade says that the golfer can change his shot shape up to 75 yards laterally.

Michael asks…

Taylormade Burner 2.0 Graphite iorns vs. Callaway Razr Iorns?

Which would you feel is the best iorns for me, a 15 year old H’cap 18 but playing well better than it, to buy

admin answers:

Straight up, there’s a slight possibility you’ll hit the Burner’s further. That’s only because the graphite shafts are lighter and a little longer. Graphite-shafted irons are always made stock .5″ longer than their steel counterparts… That’s because it’s easier to do that (even if it might be to out detriment) than retool their molds to make heavier heads. Why? Because of swingweighting- or, how heavy the head feels; if a steel-shafted model is made to D2 (“standard”), the graphite version is going to be D2, as well.

You’ll possibly develop accuracy issues, for those same reasons.

If you’re serious about improving- taking lessons and a lot of practice- I’d say to go with the RAZR’s. The Burners are a little on the thicker side, with a little more offset. They aren’t “bad”, just designed for the less inclined to hit straighter shots.

However, if you don’t get properly fitted for your new irons, it won’t matter what you buy. Unless you’re one of those that fit into “off the rack” clubs (which is only about 10% of the golfing population) you’ll do well to get fitted. Lengths, swing weights, lie angles, grip size, total weighting… These are all things that, when combined with your individual abilities, determines how well the club performs for you. The idea is to have your clubs work WITH you, not AGAINST you.

Nancy asks…

Taylormade Burner Superfast 2.0 Driver or the Callaway Diablo Octane Driver?

Which is better? I got into golf about a month ago went out played 18 rounds a good 10 times now and wondering which of these drivers i should upgrade to?

admin answers:

I am sure they are like all other drivers, none are the “best”… You just have to try them out and attempt to figure out which one is the “best” for you… That can be fun! Good luck!

I don’t think you could go wrong with either one, they are both “upper echelon” drivers!

Betty asks…

Where to find the cheap and left handed TM burner 2.0 irons?

I know that the Taylormade Burner 2.0 Iron which are not cheap in lots of stores are great irons and i looking to buy ones, but i am a left handed golfer as Phil Mickelson. where to find the cheap ones?

admin answers:

Llefty clubs are cheaper than right handed so i would recommend going to the golf courses and stores and look for your club, i know its hot and what a pain, but people want to get rid of them so you should get a good price your resale value will be lower too.

Your Questions About Golf Clubs In Michigan

Susan asks…

How much should I study for the ACT? And will this score be good enough for the University of Michigan?

Alright, so I must do well on my ACT. I need a test score that will get me into a reputable college, as well as earn me a scholarship. I live with my mother along with my four younger siblings. On average, we get about 10,000 dollars a year. It will be even less once I turn 18, because we get all of our money from social security. My mom will stop receiving money for me when I turn 18. I have no money saved up for college at all. I had a savings account with about 500 dollars in it up until a year ago, but I gave it to my mother. She was caught driving while impaired and she needed the money or else she would be sent to jail. From my mother’s actions, I can assume that I will be on my own to pay for college. This is why I must get a good score on my ACT.

When I took the PLAN test, it predicted that my score on the ACT would be a 28-32 if I continue to learn at the rate I have been until I take the test. This is unacceptable. I would like at least a 34 on the ACT, and I must get it the first time. I don’t have the money to retake the test. I take the test in February. If I study three hours a day for the rest of the summer, then 11 hours a week up until I take the test, is it likely that I will be able to achieve a 34? Also, would taking a prep class benefit me?

Furthermore, I would love to go to the University of Michigan. If I am able to obtain a 34 on my ACT, along with a 3.5 GPA, what is the possibility of my gaining entrance into the University? I also have many extra curricular activities. So far in my high school career I have two years as the secretary on student council, book club, marching band, jazz band, dungeons and dragons club, and one year of track. In the next two years, in addition to the activities listed above, I plan on joining the science olympiad team, quiz bowl, National Honors Society, Key Club, Glee Club, and possibly the Disc Golf Club. What would my chances be for getting into the University of Michigan?

I appreciate all help. Thanks for your time.
Other than getting a 4.0 throughout the rest of my high school career, how can I raise my GPA?

admin answers:

Your GPA isn’t the best for incoming freshmen (average is a 3.8GPA) but! Each application is thoroughly reviewed by several people. Your personal circumstances and obstacles, as well as the fact you have worked very hard and having many extracurriculars will help you, (though having fewer but more time/involvement in them would probably look better.) I do think with a 34ACT however, and solid letters of recommendation and awesome essays– you could get in, even though your GPA isn’t the greatest.

Know that pretests are not the ACT, so yes, you could get a 34— but you could also get a 26. You can study, but with such things like these— you can’t know how you’ll do until you actually take it. Yes, studying a lot would help you and taking a prep class would totally benefit you— besides helping with the material on the test– they’ll help with test taking strategies.

Luckily, with UofM— if you’re accepted— and you’re in-state & in financial need, they are generous with financial aid, *out-of-state receive no aid; just a btw. While on paper, UofM is the most expensive college in the state– since it is such a large and prestigious school— they get a LOT of funding from donors and the state, etc. I’m not in such financial hardship as you appear to be, and all of my tuition is being paid for (not living, food expenses though etc)…

UofM doesn’t really give merit-based scholarships— so the notion getting a 34 ACT will help you get scholarships from UofM isn’t true (although private scholarships might)— UofM gives most aid for assistance reasons, so unless you’re very rich— you’ll get aid.

Good luck! You really seem to be a hard worker and determined to do well– as long as you get maybe a 30ACT– I would like to think UofM will accept you. :)

Can I get into Vanderbilt and/or Michigan?

I just finished my sophomore year in high school. Through two years I have a weighted 4.2 GPA and unweighted 3.65 GPA. I have taken 9 honors class so far, and 1 AP. Next year I am taking 4 AP’s and 2 honors classes. I live in the Northeast. I played baseball my freshman year, member of Key Club, run my own website helping out teens with anxiety/depression, play golf/member of golf club, caddy at a country club, and umpire little league games, I also am a member of Safe Rides, and began my own club at the school that benefits kids in hospitals. I know I have not yet taken either the SAT or ACT, but based on the above, do I have a shot at being accepted into Michigan and/or Vanderbilt?

How about if I apply ED?

Thanks.

admin answers:

It sounds like you should be pretty ok with getting into Michigan. I come from a high school class in Michigan and half my class made it in. Vanderbilt I heard has become more strict with the qualifications to get in so that is a little iffy. My best friend goes to Michigan but she graduated with all the honors and AP classes we offered while taking college classes her senior year for half her classes. She got a 35 ACT and some really high SAT score and she got wait listed at Vanderbilt.

Lisa asks…

I am a high school junior who is looking to be accepted to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Any Advice?

Academic record (in-state):

4.0 GPA (unweighted)
4.45 GPA (weighted)
2160 SAT
31 ACT
I will have excellent recommendations

Extracurricular:
100+ volunteer hours
Art Club
Varsity golf
Work Experience

What do you think my chances are of being accepted?
What else can I do to boost my resume?

Also, how is Ann Arbor as a college town?
And how is the department of mathematics at the University of Michigan?

admin answers:

You’re in.
Here are the stats for freshman accepted in 2007:
Middle 50% GPA: 3.7-3.9.
Test score ranges of the middle 50%: SAT Verbal: 590 – 690. SAT Math: 630 – 730. ACT: 27 – 31
The only problem you may encounter is that you are OVERqualified. If you’re overqualified for the school, they might not think you’re entirely serious–that you’re applying just as a safety–and reject you. I really think you should apply to the Honors Program (which would solve that problem).
Ann Arbor is a great college town. Both my cousins went to U Mich there and LOVED it–one loved it so much she stayed there for grad school. Their academics–including math–are great.

Your Questions About Nike Golf Club Sets

Michael asks…

What is a typical set of golf clubs?

I am just getting into golf and I wanted to know what clubs and which clubs I need to make a full set of clubs. Make a list too if you can like Drivers: 5,etc… and Irons: 6,2,etc.. Are Nike‘s good clubs?

admin answers:

This is typical:

Driver
3 wood
5 wood
Irons: 3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Sand Wedge
Pitching Wedge
Putter

If you’re just getting into golf, you might want to consider “hybrid” irons instead of regular long irons (3,4,5); hybrids are easier to swing and have a greater sweet spot (but will give you less spin control).

William asks…

Which are the best Nike Golf Clubs?

I’m new to the game and Don’t like the Idea of Hybrid clubs. I Like Nikes Technology, but can’t decide on a good set. Any Suggestions would help.
Let Me rephrase that. I believe in Nike‘s Abilty to produce quality Clubs, and would like to Know which set of theirs I should consider. Plus I Love The swoosh.

admin answers:

The easy answer to this question is to go with an authentic golf manufacturing company for your clubs, not Nike… They are far from a technology leader. The old school golf companies hold all the patents.

Daniel asks…

I want to buy a half set golf clubs but what make ? (10points)?

I am a beginner.
14 years of age.

Im not sure what half set i should buy.
Which ones would you recommend ?
Also any websites that sell nike half sets for adults, ive been searching everywhere !

admin answers:

Look at like a Nickent set. They arent a name brand yet but great forgiving clubs. Ping has great clubs but it has its price. Possible go to dicks and get a 100 dollar set. You need to learn your swing mechanics and get out on the course a little before investing a load of money into clubs.

im 13 years of age and just started playing about 2 weeks ago i hit around 150yards average and my max is about 210yards i hit farley strait but not to good with an iron only with a driver and putter the furthest put ive even attempted to do was about 20yards and i got that in the hole but with the iron i can only hit around 50 yards(i wasn’t kidding when i said im horrible with an iron) please only make suggestions that dont include having to wait til im 16 or have to sighn up for lessons at a golf course. all i do right now is work on my distance and accuracy at the range right now and today i just started practicing on the holes

admin answers:

Buy a sandwedge and practice short game mainly 60% of time, practice and learn correct way to hit irons. Leave driver alone untill you can hit at least a seven iron in air every time.

Richard asks…

Self-Taught versus Lessons in the Age of YouTube?

This is a long one, but I need to provide some context to ask this question properly, so I apologize in advance for the length.

I’m 28 years old and when I was a kid I was not very athletic. But one of my cousins and another childhood friend were though. Early in my middle school years, I spent a summer trying to learn how to play golf with the cousin and the friend. At least once a week my parents would drop us off at the only country club in our small town, and the three of us would play a round together. Needless to say I would slow the game down for the other two, and I quickly became discouraged with the game. They tried to help me, but I just didn’t get it and I lost interest quickly. To make it even worse, my 12 year old cousin could hit the ball in excess of 250 yards off the tee almost every time. I asked him how it could hit it so far, and his answer was that when he played with the grown ups he just wanted to try to keep up with them. So he more or less would just try to knock the bloody hell out of the ball every time he teed it up. He had this really weird unorthodox swing, where he wouldn’t cock his wrists. He never had any real formal training, he just did it. My cousin went on to become a PGA tour pro. His name is J.B. Holmes, and my childhood friend is now his caddy. We remained friends through high school and into college, but I just never really had any interest in the sport other then rooting for John when he was in contention to win an event or in the Ryder Cup.

Then I caught the bug towards the end of last summer (2009). After my old man gave me his old set of clubs, and I took them out to the driving range one day for the hell of it. I was surpised how much I remembered from childhood. Then I played a round with my father, and even though I didn’t keep score, I had a great time. I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve watched tons of videos on YouTube, been to the driving range and practice greens several times a week since, and starting this past spring, playing at least once a week on a public course. I’ve become obsessed with the physics and mechanics of the game, and combining the knowledge and theory with the muscle memory and consistency. Back in March of this year I couldn’t even dream of breaking 100… but now I am consistently shooting in the low 80′s (I haven’t broken 80 yet, my lowest of the year was an 81 a few weeks ago). I’m proud to say I haven’t had a lesson yet. All of this has been self taught thought instructional videos and studying various pro swings in slow motion. The thing is though, you look at guys like my cousin and Jim Furyk and even though their swings make them look like 15 handicappers compared to what the “perfect” golf swing is supposed to look like, they’re making it work for them, producing great shots, and bringing home trophies.

My question is, with all the information available via the internet, in this modern age… could it possibly be a substitute for lessons with a living breathing golf pro, given that one makes themselves and avid student of the game? It seems to me, since no two pros have the same swing anyhow, isn’t it all really just finding the swing that works for you, and knowing the physics behind a great shot, instead of just having someone say “do it like this?” A golf swing shouldn’t be monkey see monkey do, in my opinion… shouldn’t dedicating yourself to the study of swing theory and finding your own grove be the way to go? Or am I going to have to break down and pay some guy (who may or may not be a hack) $40 a week if I ever want to see the 70′s?

admin answers:

You seem to be answering your own question here and in some respects you are right on. Most PGA Teachers will ask what you would like them to do for you and will work to help you achieve the goals you have set out for yourself. None of the pros will be real interested in what you think you know about swing mechanics and theory but would prefer to just help you to improve what you are doing to reach your goals. Go ahead and develop your own swing just as so many great PGA TOUR players have done but don’t be afraid to ask for help from a teaching pro to guide you along your journey. A word to the wise though please don’t become so transfixed in the physics and mechanics of a golf swing but try to feel your way to a better swing that works for you. That is the secret that worked for J.B. Holmes, Jim Furyk and many others that have and own their individual swings. Good luck with breaking 80 soon. You’ve put a lot of thought into this and should get there soon.

admin answers:

Well, most colleges only look at your high school grades and extra cirriculars, but if you can keep that up through high school, and do well on SAT/ACT, you’re doing great!

My only advice would be don’t stress yourself out. Remember, grades are most important, then test scores, then at least 3-5 good, strong extra cirriculars. Don’t over schedule yourself. Also, seek out leadership within clubs, and volunteer! Community service looks great in addition to extra curriculars, seek out an organization outside of school that interests you. I would suggest in addition to the nursing home and library, try to get into a hospital, or organizing fundraising for a charity.
